FAQs

Is this your first time working with a copy/content writer? Or maybe you just want to know more about my process?

Check out my Frequently-Asked Questions to learn how we can work together and what it means to use a freelance content writer.

If I work with you, what is your process?

My process is pretty simple. When you reach out to me, I’ll typically set up a call or conversation via email to understand exactly what you need.

I tend to start with a paid test piece. This is a good chance for you to work out if we’re a good fit. From there, we can agree on any future assignments or go our own way.

I invoice at the end of the month or at the end of the project, depending on how we decide to work together.

What’s your industry niche?

I don’t have an industry niche! I love to work with anyone and everyone. That said, I do have a lot of experience in the health/fitness space, as well as Fintech blog writing and lifestyle and culture.

I specialise in crafting engaging and SEO-friendly blog posts for growing businesses, but I also love to write web copy and social media posts that get your business out there.

What’s the difference between a content writer and copywriter?

This is a big question – and one that I get a lot! There’s so much overlap, so it can be hard to know whether you need a copywriter or a content writer.

I call myself a content writer. That means I specialise in long-form content like blog posts and articles. However, I regularly work on web copy projects.

Like many other writers, I do a bit of everything. If you need some words, get in touch. If I’m not the right person for the job, I’ll certainly refer you to the person who is.

Do you use AI?

I don’t use AI to write any of my content. My blog posts, web copy and social media services are 100% human, so you don’t have to worry about any nasty bots or machines getting in the way of you and your customers.

Although AI can be a great research tool, it’s not a good idea to use it to write your content for you. It’s not always factually accurate – and it can’t replicate that genuine, human voice you need to engage with people.

Get in touch to find out more about the benefits of working with a human writer (other than the fact that a real-life creative will send you good vibes!).

Do you only work with Sheffield-based businesses?

No! Just because I’m a copywriter in Sheffield, that doesn’t mean I work exclusively with local businesses.

I’ve written content for UK, Australian, Canadian, US and Singaporean markets in the past, from web copy for a marketing agency in Manchester to social media posts for a brand in Australia. Wherever you’re based, get in touch!

What is a ghostwriter?

There’s a common misconception that ghostwriting only applies to books, such as celebrity memoirs, but that’s not the case!

A ghostwriter is someone who writes digital content (such as blog posts) for your website, but not under their own name. It’s a mutual agreement – you pay me for my services, you get to post my work under the name of your choice.

This builds your profile in your industry and sets you up as the experienced thought leader you are.

However, not all of my work is ghostwriting. I also write articles for publications under my by-line, including Fit & Well, The C Word, Mind Over Money Matters and The Rauch Review.

Do you do technical SEO research?

I don’t do technical SEO research as part of my work. That said, I do some basic on-page SEO research as part of my process.

This includes finding SEO-friendly content ideas and keywords for your blog posts. If you need technical research for your company, I can recommend a freelance colleague.

As an experienced SEO blog writer, I am very well-versed in the essentials to get your blog post ranked by Google. I also have experience writing backend bits and pieces, such as meta descriptions or SEO titles.

Do you have any resources to help people write their own content?

Yes! I’ve written an ebook about blog writing called ‘The Art of Blog Writing.’ It goes over the basics of writing for your website’s blog, including templates like your own blog post brief.

You can also find writing, freelancing, blogging and business tips and tricks on my blogs: Eleanor Jones Content Writing and Not-So-Modern Girl.

How much does it cost to work with you?

My prices are very reasonable. I charge from roughly £180 per blog post for my content and copywriting services. For hourly work, I charge from £35 per hour.

That’s pretty good for a dedicated freelancer with over 8 years of experience writing blog posts! Contact me for a proper quote.
